Exploring Psyche: Understanding The Mind

We invite you to experience Psychotherapy with Firefly Somatics™, where we provide support and exploration of your Inner World, Self-Concept, and Limiting Patterns. Our approach draws on a variety of perspectives, including Jungian Psychology, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Restructuring, and Behavioural Therapy.


Using elements of our proprietary framework, The Firefly Method®, we work with a range of techniques to help you identify and understand negative thought patterns, support emotional processing, and uncover any dysfunctional behaviours that may be hindering your personal growth and overall human experience. Unlike conventional, systemised psychotherapy that can sometimes leave clients feeling overwhelmed and in heightened states of arousal—arising past painful memories and intense emotions without adequate guidance—our approach ensures you receive the support needed to process, integrate, regulate, and ground emotionally.

When it comes to Psychotherapy, this experience is like no other! We are taking Psychotherapy to a whole new level. The Firefly Psychotherapy Experience is completely unique. It is a co-creation between Danielle Hayes, Founder and Creator of Firefly Somatics™ and The Firefly Method®, and Coach Amy Parrott, an Integrative Psychotherapist Therapist.

Meet Coach Amy, our in-house Psychotherapist

Both Danielle and Amy have personally utilised Psychotherapy in their own healing journeys, while Amy brings professional experience working as a Psychotherapist in the field. Drawing from their own immediate experiences of Psychotherapy, they co-created this experience to fill the many gaps they felt were missing in conventional approaches.

Although Amy was already a practicing Psychotherapist, when she discovered Firefly Somatics™ she realised her own nervous system was dysregulated. After a consultation with Danielle, she immediately enrolled in the Firefly Psychosomatic Guided Healing Programme, which she completed over 18 months under Danielle’s guidance. Following this, she trained as a Firefly Coach, integrating both her psychotherapy expertise and her lived experience with psychosomatics.

Having personally experienced the gaps in traditional psychotherapy, Amy understands that working with the mind alone is not enough for lasting transformation. She also recognises that developing self-awareness through mind-focused, psyche-level work is a crucial first step before engaging deeply with the body and nervous system. With this insight—both personal and professional—she understands that some individuals may not yet be ready for a full completion cycle and can benefit from beginning with gentle mind-focused work before progressing into somatic and nervous system work.

With this in mind, the Firefly Psychotherapy Experience is an ideal starting point for anyone beginning their journey of healing. Our sessions focus on the mind and psyche, helping you gain deeper understanding and clarity of Self, the Psyche, Limiting Belief Patterns, and Behavioural Patterns.

Our approach is blended, including various elements of The Firefly Method®, while we incorporate some gentle somatic techniques to help you regulate and ground emotionally. However, the primary focus remains on psychotherapy. This ensures a safe, reflective, and structured space to begin exploring your inner world with awareness and clarity.


You may be just beginning your healing journey. Perhaps you haven’t yet tried talk therapy, or you’re unsure where to start—whether with the mind, the body, or both together. You might be new to the world of healing and have limited awareness of Self. It’s also possible that you’re not yet ready for the depth of work that our Psychosomatic Therapy or ERT entails and may need to begin gently with the mind first, as a foundational step.

The beauty of starting with the psyche is that by learning about Self, you create a strong base from which to eventually explore the deeper, more unconscious shadows of Self that Psychosomatic Therapy or ERT can access—when you feel ready to engage with the body. Completing self-exploration and reflection at the mind level lays a solid foundation for transitioning into Somatic Therapy, where you can begin to heal the Somatic Body and Nervous System. From there, you can start to connect the insights gained from mind-focused work with the deeper, broader, and more unconscious realms accessed through somatic healing.


  • A beginner and just starting out on your healing journey.
  • Looking to dive into your psyche and explore how your past experiences are shaping your present, with an aim of understanding your thought patterns, behavioural patterns and identifying unhelpful or limiting beliefs within the structure of the psyche.
  • Feeling stuck in your current life and can’t seem to break certain patterns and habits. Finding yourself repeating them time again, and you wish to build a deeper understanding, learning tools to break these cycles.
  • Not yet ready for the full somatic experience and wish to begin at more of a mind level.
  • Wanting to begin building your self-awareness and self-concept in a safe and non-judgmental space.

All Psychotherapy sessions are 60 minutes in length, and are conducted both in person and online. All sessions are tailored specifically to your unique needs. Amy will work intuitively in collaboration with you, to help you realise your true worth, build your self concept, recognise your innate power and strengths, helping you to reconnect with yourself and the world around you.

Within session, the following techniques will be applied:

  • Incorporation of Jungian Psychology, Behaviour Analysis and Cognitive Restructuring
  • Deep Self Reflection of Patterns while also exploring the Unconscious
  • Psychoeducation around the Vagus Nerve, the stress response and Polyvagal Theory by identifying your own unique stress response and how this shows up in your life
  • Gentle Somatic Techniques including Body Scanning and gentle Vagal Activation
  • Exploring emotional regulation techniques for working with live triggers and managing daily life stressors
  • Working with Nature and Cyclical Patterns. This includes Circadian Rhythm, Feminine Cycles and Infradian Rhythm, Seasons and Cycles within nature including Moon Phases. These will help you to develop your personal connection to your own Human Cycle.
  • Developing grounding techniques to help you stabilise

The Firefly Somatics™ Psychotherapy experience is a completely supportive journey, offering:

  • Guidance on emotional regulation techniques to help you manage stressors.
  • Cognitive restructuring to support the creation of new thought patterns, habits, and neural pathways in the brain.
  • Exploratory work for a deeper understanding of Self and personal patterns.
  • Worksheets and journal exercises with prompts for self-reflection and exploration between 1:1 sessions.
  • Guidance on intention setting to support conscious growth and personal development.
  • A safe space to discuss past experiences that may have caused pain, distress, or emotional blocks.
  • Identification of conditioning —including parental, familial, personal bias, socio-cultural, economic, environmental, and geographical influences—that may be limiting your present life, helping you reconnect and return home to Self.
  • Mind-body coherence techniques, including gentle vagus nerve activation and somatic exercises, to foster a conscious connection between thoughts, emotions, feelings, and bodily sensations, enhancing self-awareness and integration.

A Firefly Somatics™ Psychotherapy Experience is designed to support meaningful, lasting transformation by working with the mind and psyche safely, gradually, and with integrity. Healing is not a one-time event—it unfolds over time through reflection, insight, and consistent guidance, allowing new patterns of thought, behaviour, and self-awareness to take root. This is why all psychotherapy sessions are offered within a structured container, ensuring that every client receives the guidance, resources, and continuity necessary to process and integrate the insights gained during each session. By combining reflective dialogue, structured aftercare, and practical tools for self-exploration between sessions, we create a comprehensive approach that honours the mind, the psyche, and the process of developing deeper self-awareness.

In your Psychotherapy package, you will receive:

  • Pre Assessment and Pre-Screening
  • Option of weekly or fortnightly Psychotherapy Sessions, 60 minutes in length
  • Weekly Live Support: you will have a personal chat box on The Firefly Telegram Channel. This live chat is here to support you in between sessions, Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 8pm, to help assist you with any triggers that may arise where you require professional support and guidance.
  • Community Support: Access to our Private Facebook Group where you can walk the path alongside other Firefly clients who are also on a healing journey with us.
  • Nervous System Care: You will have access to Firefly Somatics™ Nervous System After Care which includes The Vagus Nerve Mastery Protocol. This is a protocol designed by founder and creator of Firefly Somatics™ Danielle Hayes. With Amy’s guidance, elements of this protocol can be implemented at home to help you emotionally regulate and calm the Nervous System.
  • Video TutorialsWithin the resource pack you will have access to various vagal activation videos used in The Vagus Nerve Mastery Protocol. Amy will guide you on what particular exercises to use at home, depending on what she feels will benefit you most according to your personal issues and needs
  • Modules: Within the resource pack you will have an education folder, with access to various modules created by Danielle, such as ‘Trauma, Neuroscience and Psychophysiology’, and ‘A Beginners Guide to Polyvagal Theory’, and ‘Upholding Good Energetic Hygiene’
  • Downloadable Books: Within your after care pack, you will have access to books such as ‘The Body Keeps the Score‘, ‘Rewire Your Brain‘ and ‘Accessing the Healing Powers of The Vagus Nerve’

Psychotherapy sessions with Firefly Somatics™ are available both in-person and online, offering flexible options to suit your needs. Choose from three in-person packages or three online packages, each designed to provide consistent support and guidance on your journey of self-awareness and personal growth.

In person

  • Option 1: One session per month, with after care – €306 per month
  • Option 2: Two 2 sessions per month on a fortnightly basis, with after care – €476 per month
  • Option 3: Four sessions per month on a weekly basis, with after care – €816 per month

Online

  • Option 1: One session per month, with after care – €272 per month
  • Option 2: Two sessions per month on a fortnightly basis, with after care – €408 per month
  • Option 3: Four sessions per month on a weekly basis, with after care – €680 per month
